La National League 2 North 2009-10 fue la primera temporada (vigésimo tercera en total) de la cuarta división (norte) de las competiciones nacionales de rugby union inglesas desde que se introdujo el formato profesionalizado de la segunda división . Anteriormente conocida como National Division 3 North , había cambiado de nombre debido a los cambios generalizados en el sistema de liga por parte de la RFU , con la National One convirtiéndose en la Championship , la National 2 convirtiéndose en la National 1 y así sucesivamente. Promotion play-off
Each season, the runners-up in the National League 2 North and National League 2 South participate in a play-off for promotion into National League 1. Loughborough Students were runners-up in the North and would host the game as they had a better record in the league in comparison to the South runners up Rosslyn Park.
